What we owned

Midknightstudio owned learning-unit design with the client's subject experts, all AR and 3D production, the Unity application, the multi-language content pipeline and the teacher-facing controls. The client owned curriculum standards and distribution to schools.

The brief

Cover the Grade 6 to 10 Science and Mathematics syllabus with AR that a teacher will actually use every morning. That meant hundreds of units, not a handful of showpieces, and it meant running on classroom smart boards and mid-range Android tablets rather than on a flagship phone in a demo video.

Every unit also had to exist in four languages, with assessments that fed results back to the platform, and controls that let a teacher pause, replay or skip without breaking the lesson.

What we did

We designed a unit taxonomy first: AR games, board activities, simulations and assessments, each with a fixed structure so that subject experts could author at volume and the engineering team could build once and reuse. Content lives in a pipeline that separates language from logic, so a new language is a translation job rather than a rebuild.

In-engine, the priority was frame rate on the weakest target device. Assets, shaders and interaction were budgeted for smart-board hardware before anything else, and a teacher-facing control layer sits over every unit.

Where it landed

111 modules and 888 learning units shipped in English, Hindi, Marathi and Urdu, running across Android smart boards and iOS and Android tablets. The taxonomy and pipeline are now the template the client uses for new subjects.
